Distilled water is the best option, but if you're using tap water, you can add a teaspoon of citric acid to prevent limescale buildup. Boil the water for five minutes. You should also clean the nipple shields after each use. Separate the pieces and wash them with a mild detergent. Then, rinse them well with cold water and let them dry on a clean cloth.
